I swore I wouldn’t talk about my weight on here anymore because it’s always so depressing, but today I need you gals and your supportive words. I went a whole week without any pop, not even a sip of Andy’s. I exercised 5 out of the 7 days, ate healthy and GAINED 3 POUNDS!!! That officially makes me the heaviest I’ve ever been. What is wrong with me?? I am so angry, I don’t know why I am even trying. If I can eat what I want, drink pop, be lazy and stay the same weight as when I work out, eat healthy and don’t drink pop then why work so hard? I have been trying so hard since March and I haven’t lost a single pound! How is that possible??? I am so frustrated, I just want to give up. I am tired of being fat but no matter what I do it doesn’t help. I feel doomed to be fat and ugly for the rest of my life. I don’t want to be, I don’t want to feel like this anymore, and I’m trying to not look like this but it isn’t working. What am I doing wrong?? Why can’t I lose any weight? Why does it seem to work for everyone but me?
Helpless and hopeless,
Erin
awww Erin this post makes me sad. Not because you didn't lose weight but how hard you are on yourself. First of all you are BEAUTIFUL inside and out! You are not ugly AT ALL.
ReplyDeleteI would get frustrated too when I would go through these spells of not losing. It sounds like you are on a rough plateau and those can last a while. I'm betting you're at the end of it though.
Have you tried some heavy weights and adding extra/different cardio into your routine. The no pop is also great! Maybe your body went into shock without it last week and held onto some water weight???
Keep your chin up! You are an amazing inspiration to us all just. keep. going.
Love,
Annie
I agree with Annie! You are too hard on yourself!
ReplyDeleteI am also the heaviest I've ever been (not PG) and it's discouraging but I remind myself that I didn't gain this weight in 1 day or 1 week. It was put on over time and it's going to take time to get it back off. I know how you feel :( It's tough, just take one day at a time. {{HUGS}}
Let me start by saying, I think you are absolutely gorgeous. Don't get so down on yourself!!
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like you are doing everything right, don't give up.
Erin - I have been where you are far too many times. It is so frustrating!! The ONLY thing I have ever been successful at when losing weight is counting calories - do you do that? You would be surprised how many calories you eat, even when eating healthy food. It really helps with portion control and letting you know exactly what you are eating and there are so many easy apps/programs now that do all the work for you - you just enter in the food. You just have to keep trying. Nothing worth having comes easy =).. We are all here to support you! You deserve to be happy =)
ReplyDeleteMy suggestion like Sam ^ would be to start counting calories, measuring out portions, etc. I use My Fitness Pal to count calories which really helps me stay on track. Keep switching things up till you find something that works. I would start taking your measurements too. Even though the scale isn't moving you may have lost inches! Keep at it my friend and try to stay positive.
ReplyDeleteLet's focus on how you FEEL right now, physically. How much better does your body feel after a week of making a weightloss effort (eating better and working out) vs. a week of eating whatever and no exercise? I bet you feel better after the week on track.
ReplyDeleteTry to ask yourself before you eat something junky or hang on the couch instead of lacing up your shoes....how will this affect my body? Will it make me feel bloated and sluggish - if so, don't do it!
I've been struggling too, so I'm in your boat. But we have to TRY!
I agree with the masses--you are beautiful, so stop lying about being "ugly" because we ain't buying it! :)
ReplyDeleteAnd don't let a bad week get you down! I totally don't blame you--it's so frustrating when all you want is to know that the hard work will be worth it. But give it at least a month before you decide you need to change things up. When you start to lose weight, your body will struggle to maintain the status quo--your shrinking fat cells will actually take in water to retain the same size. So drink plenty of liquids because that's the best way to coerce your body into letting go of that water weight. Also, you should take measurements. Your weight can fluctuate up to 2 pounds due to just clothing--seriously. And on any given moment, the amount of, uh, stuff in your GI tract can vary greatly. There are sooo many factors that can account for a 3 pound gain, so get some more data before you let it wreck your spirits. More weigh-ins (but keep them to once a week or once every few days at least) for comparison and more methods of measuring your progress can only help!
Oh Erin! I'm so sorry?,! I know exactly ow you feel!! It's so hard, and so depressing. And then it seems like everyone else I know, the weight is melting off the. I get angry and jealous! Are you drinking enough water? If you're working out so much, you need more water or your body will retain it. Are you eating enough? If you aren't your body will hold on to what you're giving it. Look in the mirror, you ARE SO beautiful!!! To me you don't look the slightest bit heavy! Just keep doing what you're doing and eventually you'll see results! Hugs!!
ReplyDeleteI'm not gonna give you advice cause ya see I'm not doing so hot but I will tell you that I love and adore you my Erin! I think you are beautiful!
ReplyDeleteyou ARE beautiful!!! I hope you know that!!
