Weekend Parade
This past weekend our small town had it’s annual festival, called Fun Days. We live in a very small town (1200 residents give or take) but it puts on a heck of a parade!
Brennan was staying the night and day with Mama and Papa so he missed out but we still came home with a grocery sack full of candy.
The parade lasted a whole hour. The softball and baseball teams always fill a bunch of water balloons and buckets full of water so they can spray kids in the crowd. The owner of the yard we sat in was prepared – he pulled out his hose to the curb and sprayed them back! It was hilarious. Another house next to us filled buckets full of water and would run up and douse the players, too. Made for a fun parade to watch!
Another notable thing about the parade was the 16 Allis Chalmers tractors that lined up one after the other in memory of a local farmer who was killed in a farming accident last fall. It was really moving to see.
Parades can be exhausting I guess.
Out like a light!
Another Fun Days parade in the books! I think it was a success! Already looking forward to next year’s!
Stop back tomorrow for an awesome giveaway! $100 to Victoria’s Secret! 10 bloggers are joining forces to start your summer off right! See you then!
Looks like a fun day!
ReplyDeleteAn hour long parade?! Holy moly that's awesome!
ReplyDeleteBasically there was a water balloon/water hose fight in the middle of your parade - LOVE IT! Only in small towns will you get that kind of fun during a parade. :)
ReplyDeleteI love the idea of living in such a small town... your posts always intrigue me when you talk about your town / community!
