Link Up Wednesday

Wow, a second post?!?  What’s gotten in to me? First up, another edition of Kimmyyyy’s ‘Who Are You’ series. 1. What are your 5 greatest accomplishments?
  1. Getting our family moved closer to ‘home’ after surviving living in the big big city
  2. Helping my husband pay off his college loans
  3. My boys
  4. My awesome marriage
2. What is the thing you most wish you were great at?
Being a mom.  I am an okay mom but I know I am not a GREAT mom.  There are so many things a day I could do better with or for the boys.  It’s something I need to work on.

3. What do you think your spouse loves most about you?
My humor. Ha ha!!  I’m teasing.  I don’t know if I can pinpoint the one thing he loves MOST because I know he loves so many things about me that get rolled up and make me who I am as his wife.

4. How did you feel the moment you became a parent?
Excited!  It was so great to hold that sweet little baby for the first time and to know he was all ours and I could hold and kiss him all I wanted.

5. Describe 3 significant memories from your childhood.
  1. My sister and I playing in the sheep pasture.
  2. When a mean babysitter put MY Ted and Blanky in the middle of the floor and told us to race to them and whoever got them could have them.  My sister won. How crappy is that?
  3. One afternoon when I was supposed to be napping I decided to play ‘teacher’ with all of my sister’s stuffed animals and Barbies.  I found a penny and put it in my mouth to chew on it like gum, like I was a super cool teacher. Ha!  I ended up swallowing the darn thing!  I panicked and went out to the living room where my mom was watching “As The World Turns” and was working on a cross stitch project.  I sat under the TV tray she was using and cried. She kept asking me what was wrong and I wouldn’t tell her because I was afraid of getting in trouble.  Finally I told her what happened. She wasn’t too mad and told me it’d come out in my poop.  Nice.
Another fun one, Kimmyyyy!
And now for So What Wednesday with Miss Shannon (who is about to pop out her baby boy!!!).
I am saying So What if…
~ I am obsessed with babies and pregnancy and want to talk about it non-stop all the time!
~ I haven’t been on the treadmill for 2 weeks.  I’m tired, give me a break!
~ some days I need a break from my boys.  Does it make me a bad mom?  Maybe.  But I’d be an even worse mom if I didn’t get a break once in a while.
~ I am already thinking about Christmas and what gifts I want to get for people.
~ I signed up for Wiffessionals Cara Box exchange for this month and I’m scared to get stuff for my gal because I’m not creative in that way and am worried she’ll think she got jipped.
Good luck to Shannon!!!  I can’t wait to see pictures of that sweet little boy!
Talk soon!

  1. That does NOT make you a bad mom!!!! Everyone deserves "me" time. Even the kids benefit from not having their parents around 24/7. I take a few hours one day a week to get out and just do me. I used to feel bad about it but not anymore. I love the feeling when I get home and my kids run up to me and kiss/hug me and tell me they missed me :)

  2. That was so not cool of your baby sitter!!
And no way does needing a break make you a bad mom! If I don't get at least 30 minutes at the end of the day all to myself I usually think I'm going to go crazy. It's good for EVERYONE if momma gets some "me" time.

  3. I bet you ARE a great mom and you're just being hard on yourself! You do so many fun things with your boys and mention them in just about every post--they clearly have your heart!

  4. Oh man, taking or needing a break from your boys does not make you a bad mom!!! We all need a break, and those who don't say they do are lying! Ha!!
I can't believe that babysitter! She totally was mean!
And when I was pregnant all I wanted to talk about was pregnancy and babies! So bring it on mama!

  5. Oh Christmas. So not ready.

  6. You are a great mom! Quit putting yourself down. And I am so obcessed with babies lately. Like to the point that I think I want another. I know I will never do it, but it is ao tempting
